ROOTED IN FAITH & WILD AT HEART: Why We’re Starting A Faith & Nature Based Homeschool

There’s something stirring deep in my heart- something tender, wild, and deeply intentional. It’s the longing to bring my children home, not just under our roof, but back to the rhythms of God’s creation. Back to the roots of faith, family, and the wonder of the world outside our door.

We’re starting a new journey, one that blends homeschooling with our love for Jesus and the natural world He made.

And truthfully, it feels less like a decision and more like a calling.

The Why Behind The Change

I didn’t always plan on homeschooling, but as our days grew busier and louder, I found myself craving simplicity. Not less learning, but deeper learning. I wanted my children to know more than just how to memorize facts and pass tests. I wanted them to grow up in wisdom, wonder, and worship.

What if their education wasn’t just about academics, but about formation? What if learning could happen in bare feet, under trees, with dirt-stained hands and scripture in their hearts?

That’s when it clicked.

This wasn’t about schooling at home.

This was about discipline hearts, mine and theirs, through a slower, sacred rhythm.

Learning In The Light Of The Creator

In this homeschool, we will learn to read and write, but we will also learn to listen – to birdsong, to the voice of the Spirit, and to each other.

We’ll memorize Bible versus by the creek.

We’ll journal our prayers under the sun.

We’ll track the seasons and find God’s fingerprints in every leaf and in the sky.

We’ll study the Psalms while planting seeds, and read Genesis beside our growing garden. Because the same God who made the world is still speaking through it.

Faith Is The Foundation

Our homeschool isn’t just nature-inspired, it’s Christ-centered.

Jesus isn’t a subject on the schedule. He is the heart of it all.

We’ll begin our mornings with worship and end our days reflecting on God’s goodness. We’ll ask hard questions, dig into Scripture, and grow together in grace.

This is less about perfectly planned lessons and more about living a life of presence, purpose, and peace.

What I Hope My Children Remember

More than grammar and math facts, I want them to remember:

·      That they were free to be curious.

·      That learning was joyful.

·      That God was present in every part of our day- from the messy breakfast table to the backyard playing.

·      That their hearts were nurtured just as much as their minds.

It Won’t Be Perfect

There will be chaos. There will be days when the baby is crying, the dishes are piled high, and no one can find their pencil. There will be moments I wonder if I’m enough.

But God will meet us there too, in the mess and the beauty.

Because this isn’t about perfection.

It’s about presence.

It’s about planting seeds of faith and watching them grow.

If You’re Dreaming Of The Same…

If you’re heart feels tugged in the same direction, I want you to know you’re not alone.

You don’t need a perfect plan or a Pinterest-worthy classroom.

You just need a willing heart, a little courage, and a lot of grace.

Let’s raise children who know their Creator, who love His creation, and who live rooted in truth and wonder.

Because the world needs more wild-hearted, faith-filled kids who know how to see God in every flower, every start, and every page of His Word.
